This is a super fun vintage Yamaha! This Super Japan SJ-500 made in Japan in 1978, a great time of Yamaha electric guitar production. The neck profile is super comfy, sitting in the vintage U camp, a little chunkier than a slim C, but less chunky than a 50s Strat neck. The the SH pickup configuration suits this guitar well, delivering bright, wide open single coil sounds in the bridge position, with fat, warm sounds from the neck position.
Overall in nice shape for its age! Shows wear consistent with age such as various scratches, scuffs, and dents throughout. The headstock also shows a few dings and there's additional dents and scuffs along the back of the neck. The hardware shows patina consistent with age. The frets play great and are in nice shape, exhibiting only light play wear. The electronics function as they should.
This guitar comes freshly set up with D'addario EXL110 (10-46) strings.
