This vintage made in Japan Yamaha Studio Lord SL-550 is a solid example of a Les Paul Custom recreation from the Matsumoku Factory. The neck has a comfortable slim taper profile and the factory pickups successfully deliver a classic PAF tone.
This guitar does show normal cosmetic wear for a vintage instrument that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, and small dents throughout the body with additional minor dings along the back of the neck and headstock. The black finish appears slightly cloudy from over time and the hardware also shows light patina that is consistent with aging. There's also a splotch of finish wear above the electronics cavity where it appears an adhesive might have been at one point in time. The frets are in nice shape with plenty of life along the neck and the electronics work as they should.
The pickup selector switch tip has been replaced, otherwise this guitar is all original.
