This is a very rare and hard to find vintage Yamaha SB-2A Flying Samurai Bass from 1968. This one was among the first Samurai Basses ever produced, featuring one single coil neck pickup and single volume and tone controls. The neck profile has a soft "V" shape and the medium 31.5" scale length feels easy to play.
This bass does show quite a bit of cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, dents, and finish dents throughout the body with additional dings along the back of the neck and headstock. The pearl white finish and pickguard have aged from over time and the hardware shows normal tarnishing. The frets are used and have flattened out from over time. There's some noticeable fret buzz especially on the highest frets. All of the electronics work as they should.
This bass appears to be all original.
