This is a super cool vintage short scale Vox Panther V236 bass that plays and sounds great! This one was made in Italy during the mid 1960s and was produced as a budget friendly bass, that has now gone on to have a cult following. The bass features a short 30" scale length with a single slanted pickup and single volume and tone controls. This bass certainly has a lot of history and was even previously owned by the musical artist, Cold Cave.
This bass does show quite a bit of cosmetic wear as you would expect from a vintage instrument. There's various surface scratches, scuffs, dents, chips, and vertical finish checking all throughout the body with additional dings along the back of the neck and headstock. The white finish has aged from over time and the hardware also shows normal patina. There's also some sticker residue on the front of the body that show the outline of "The Meek" and there are some extra holes drilled on the body. The blemishes are purely cosmetic and do not affect the playability of the instrument. The frets show normal wear from many years of play but still play great along the neck and the electronics work as they should.
The bridge cover is missing and the G string tuner has been replaced, otherwise this bass is original.
