This is a super cool and very hard to find made in Japan Tokai Super Edition SD401 from the mid '80s! This guitar is comprised of an alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard. The neck profile has a very profound "D" shape with a flatter radius which feels great for faster styles of playing. Among the SSS pickup configuration, the controls include a single volume, single tone, and 5-way pickup selector. The all black aesthetic also looks very sleek!
This guitar does show some cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, and dents throughout the body with additional scratches and dings along the back of the neck and headstock. The hardware and pickups are also starting to show some normal tarnish from over time. The frets are used but still play great overall without any noticable fret buzz and the electronics work as they should.
The tremolo arm and back spring cover have been replaced. The volume and tone knobs have also been added. This guitar otherwise appears to be original.
