This is an extremely hard to find Left handed Love Rock in the classic single cut special configuration! This guitar was made in Japan in 2007 and exhibits the top notch craftsmanship Tokai is known for. This particular example has seen some upgrades including a professionally installed Bigsby tremolo system, vintage-style locking tuners and a roller bridge.
This Love Rock features a slimmer 60s style profile, with a thickness of 0.85" the 1st fret and 0.91" a the 12th fret.
This guitar shows minor cosmetic wear that includes light surface scratches throughout the body and pickguard, as well as some smaller dings on the sides. Overall, the guitar is in nice shape and everything works as it should. The neck is straight and the truss rod has room in both directions. The frets are used but in great shape and exhibit very little wear here. The electronics function as they should.
The stock Tokai LP-OLD MK1 feature braided wire as you would see on Gibson pickups, These pickups sound great with some nice midrange attack and clean up nicely as you pull down the volume pots. the resistance is 8.01K for the bridge pickup, and 6.64 for the neck pickup.
The Bigsby tremolo system was professionally installed by a previous owner, with the bridge posts being updated and moved accordingly. This work was super clean, I actually thought this could've been a stock install when I first saw this guitar. As well as the added Bigsby, the bridge has been upgraded to a Sung-Ill roller bridge.
The tuners have been replaced with vintage style locking tuners. The strap buttons have been replaced with Dunlop strap lock buttons. As previously mentioned the Bigsby was added, and the bridge was replaced. The electronics do look to be original. We received the guitar as it is configured now and it does not include any of the original parts.
