This '61 reissue of the Hofner 500/1 Cavern Bass plays and sounds great! This is a high quality bass made in Germany, molded after the Hofner 500/1 bass played famously by Paul McCartney in 1961.
This bass is in really nice shape! It shows light surface scratches and small dents throughout the body from normal play. The neck is straight with plenty of room for the truss rod to turn in both directions and the electronics work as they should. The frets still have plenty of life and play great along the neck.
This bass comes freshly set up with D'addario ECB81 (45-100) Bass Flatwound strings. The volume and tone knobs have been replaced and no pickguard is present, otherwise this bass is original.
