This is a super cool early 1970's Greco TD-500 in mocha finish! Being released just 2 years after Fender's launch of their "Telecaster Deluxe" in 1972, Greco was quick to make their own version for the Japan domestic market. The Maxon Humbuckers definitely provide their own flavor compared to Fenders Wide Range Humbuckers from that period, but the overall construction of this guitar is very spot on to other 1970's Telecaster Deluxe's from that era.
This one dates to around 1974 when the TD-500 first appeared in the Greco catalog given the early "Gneco" logo and lack of serial number.
This guitar does show quite a bit of cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various scratches, scuffs, dents, and chips all throughout the body with additional wear along the back of the neck and headstock. The maple fretboard shows quite a bit of wear as well, as most of the lacquer has chipped off and there are also several dents along the edges of the fretboard. The frets have also flatted out from over the many years of play but the guitar still plays well with medium action with minimal fret buzz. The hardware and pickups show quite a bit of tarnish from over time and the mocha finish has a really nice aged and faded look.
A couple of pickguard screws, the knobs, and the pickup selector switch have been replaced. This guitar is otherwise original.
