This vintage made in Japan Greco Super Real JG-700 plays and sounds great! This one has been modified with a normal 3-way pickup selector in place of the lead circuit, with the rhythm circuit bypassed. For those who love the sound and feel of a Jaguar, but prefer streamlined controls, this is really awesome! It can of course be converted back to its stock configuration later if preferred. The neck has a comfortable soft "V" shape profile, with a nice dark rosewood fretboard. The pickups provide all the vintage Jaguar chine you could ask for.
This Greco comes from the tail end of Fender style Greco guitars being manufactured. In 1982 Kanda Shokai and Fender reached an agreement that would result in the birth of Fender Japan, and discontinuation of Fender-style Greco branded guitars. These late-era Greco's share a lot of DNA with early Fender Japan, making them quite coveted and for good reason.
This guitar does show some cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, and dents throughout the body with additional dings along the back of the neck and headstock. There are 2 small spots that appear to have been filled between the bridge and tremolo system. The hardware also shows normal patina consistent with age. The frets exhibit only light play wear with plenty of life and the electronics work as they should.
This Greco sports its original pickups, the lead circuit has been removed and some of the accompanying electronics have been replaced, likely at the time of that service. The tremolo arm is also a later replacement. This guitar is otherwise original.
