This Fender ST72-115 Stratocaster plays and sounds great! This guitar is very accurate to CBS Fender specs and the tone woods include a white ash body, "C" shape maple neck, and rosewood fretboard. This guitar weighs a bit heavier at just over 10 pounds and is factory-equipped with USA ST-Current single coil pickups.
This highest model tier "115" version of the '72 Reissue Stratocaster only saw a 2 year run, while the '62 and '57 reissue Stratocasters of this same tier saw more extensive production. If you enjoy this era of Stratocaster, these are a fantastic find, the Japanese craftsmanship is top notch as you would expect, and this rivals if not beats many USA examples from the CBS era.
This guitar does show some cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, and dents throughout the body with additional dings along the back of the neck and headstock. The white plastics have yellowed and aged from over time and the hardware shows normal tarnishing. The frets play great with plenty of life left, exhibiting some normal light play wear as shown. The electronics work as they should.
The guitar is all original, save for a replacement tremolo arm.
