This made in Japan Fender '51 Pawn Shop Stratocaster plays and sounds great! This one is a great player instrument with some tasteful upgrades. The original Custom Shop Texas Special single coil neck pickup pairs nicely with the added Seymour Duncan P-Rails, a hybrid between a P90 single coil and blade style "Hot Rails" single coil pickup. The guitar is comprised of an alder body, "C" shape maple neck, and maple fretboard.
This guitar shows minor cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, and small dents throughout the body with additional small dings along the back of the neck and headstock. The back of the lower body also shows some thin finish cracks from over time and the edge of the fretboard shows wear on the high E side. The hardware also shows normal patina that is consistent with aging. The frets are in great shape with plenty of life along the neck and the electronics work as they should.
This guitar has had a few modifications from over the years. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan SHPR P-Rails pickup with a traditional 3-way blade pickup selector and push/pull pots added to the electronics. The tortoise shell pickguard, screws, and low E bridge saddle are also replacements.
