Here we have an early production Orville by Gibson LPS Les Paul Standard! This comes from the higher tier "OBG" model tier, featuring a nitro lacquer finish, and USA Gibson pickups.
This Les Paul plays and sounds great! The Gibson humbuckers produce a nice and full output with a DC resistance reading of 7.19k in the neck and 13.47k in the bridge. The neck has a comfortable '59 shape profile.
This guitar does show some cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, and dents throughout the body with additional dings along the back of the neck and headstock. The binding and plastics have aged from over time and the electronics cover shows an imprint from where a sticker had been placed at one point in time. The finish on the front of the headstock appears slightly cloudy from over time and the hardware also shows normal tarnishing. There's a small finish chip on the side of the neck between frets 9 and 10. The frets exhibit normal play wear but still play great along the neck and the electronics work as they should.
This Les Paul comes freshly set up with D'Addario EXL110 .010-.046 gauge strings. The pickup rings are later replacements, and there is currently no pickguard installed, otherwise this guitar is original.
