This 1991 Gibson Les Paul Special is totally vibed out and sounds fantastic! This rare iteration of the LP Special was named the "Junior II" in the catalog, and boasts some really cool specs! The tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece setup allows for granular intonation adjustment, and the P-100 pickups provide all the growl and bite of a P90 without the hum. The neck has a comfortable '60s profile.
This guitar has been well played, and for good reason. This LP shows quite a bit of cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, dents, and finish wear throughout the body with additional wear along the back of the neck and headstock. There's particularly quite a bit of wear along the sides of the body and plenty of lacquer wear on the face of the headstock, especially around the tuners and Gibson logo. There's also an extra strap button hole located on the back of the body as shown, but the strap buttons are both currently in their original position. The pickguard is scratched and has aged from over time and the hardware shows patina consistent with age. The binding around the neck has also yellowed from over the years. Despite all the cosmetic wear, the frets remain in great shape with plenty of life left, and they feel great. The electronics work as they should, and this guitar is ready to rock!
This has been freshly setup with D'addario EXL110 (10-46 gauge) strings, and is playing great! The output jack cover and strap buttons are later replacements, otherwise this guitar is original.
