This is a super solid made in Japan Fender MG-69 Mustang Reissue that plays and sounds great! The guitar has been hot rodded, now sporting a pair of EMG SA active pickups. These pickups give this Mustang a more "hi-fi" sound, and bigger output. The tone woods include basswood body, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard. The rosewood board is nice and dark on this example, and the maple neck exhibits a nice flame.
The red finish looks great, especially with the unmistakable matching headstock. The Fender Japan catalog notes this finish as simply "Red" appearing somewhere between Torino Red and Dakota Red.
This Mustang is overall in nice shape, but does show some cosmetic wear that includes various surface scratches, light scuffs, and small dents throughout the body from normal play. The hardware shows some light patina. The frets are still in nice shape and the electronics work as they should.
This guitar was wired for the top 3 way switch to act as a 3 way pickup selector, and the other switch is currently disengaged.
This Mustang comes freshly set up with D'addarto EXL110 (10-46 gauge strings) The EMG pickups are of course not original to the guitar, and it looks like all of the electronics, as well as the pickguard were replaced at the time of this modification. The strap buttons are also later replacements.
