This 1992 Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster plays and sounds great! The neck profile actually has a slim "D" shape feel compared to other '52 reissues. The ash body looks great underneath the butterscotch blonde finish! The stock Fender Pure Vintage bridge pickup boasts the wide-open Telecaster tone you would expect from a 50s style Tele. The neck pickup was swapped for a Seymour Duncan STR-2, which is hotter than your typical Fender Pure Vintage Tele neck pickup. These two pickups sound nice and balanced together.
This guitar does show some cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, dents, and finish wear and chips throughout the body, particularly along the sides, with additional small dings along the back of the neck and headstock. The hardware also shows light tarnishing from over time and there are plenty of scratches on the guard from normal play. The frets are used but still play great and the electronics work as they should.
The neck pickup has been swapped for a Seymour Duncan STR-2 Hot Telecaster Neck Pickup and there is an orange capacitor in the electronics. Two of the electronics cover screws have also been replaced. This guitar is otherwise original.
