This is a very rare and hard to find made in Japan vintage Yamaha SG-5 Flying Samurai that plays and sounds great! The 4-digit serial number on the last fret indicates this guitar had been manufactured in 1967, making this guitar among one of the first Flying Samurai guitars ever produced. This one is all original, and a great time capsule of a fascinating era of Japan made electric guitars.
This guitar is in excellent shape for its age and has obviously been well cared for over the years. It shows normal cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, and dents throughout the body with additional small dings along the back of the neck and headstock. The candy blue finish has darkened from over time and the pickguard and binding around the neck also shows signs of aging. The frets play great along the neck, exhibiting only normal player wear. All of the electronics work as they should.
This guitar comes freshly setup with D'Addario EXL110 (10-46 gauge) strings.
