This made in Japan Fender MG-69 Mustang Reissue plays and sounds great! These Mustang reissues from the Fujigen Factory between 1993-1994 are very hard to come by as most of them were produced later in the Tokai Factory during the crafted era. This guitar is comprised of a basswood body with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. The shorter 24" scale length makes this guitar very fun to play and the MG-single coil pickups produce a beautifully clean and crisp tone.
This guitar does show quite a bit of cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, dents, and finish chips throughout the body. The back of the headstock has additional dings and several lacquer chips as well. The hardware shows normal tarnishing and the yellow white finish has an even more aged appearance that adds to the character of this guitar. The pickup covers have also significantly yellowed from over time. The frets are used and do show some grooves from normal play. Overall, the strings still play great across the fretboard with no fretting out issues. All of the electronics work as they should.
Some of the electronics have been touched up and replaced and the tremolo arm has also been added. This guitar otherwise appears to be original.
