This is easily one of the coolest, and most unique guitars we've every come across. This is a very early Ibanez Destroyer 2459, hot-rodded with a wraptail bridge, and vintage DiMarzio Super Distortion pickups. This guitar plays and sounds as good as it looks, with a super comfortable neck profile, and the undeniable tone of the DiMarzio pickups.
This is an early example, made between 1975 and 1976, before serial numbers were featured on these. This example comes in the illusive "African Korina" finish from Ibanez, and is made with Sen (Japanese ash) giving these guitars a unique sound when compared to a more traditional Korina or Mahogany Explorer.
This guitar is a player, and does show quite a bit of cosmetic wear that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, dents, and finish chips throughout the body with additional dings along the back of the neck and headstock. There are some finish cracks throughout, but structurally everything is solid. There is evidence the back strap button was moved around, but has since been filled and replaced in its original location. There is also evidence of a very different bridge on this at some point as shown, this area is under the guard has been filled. The frets play great, and are in nice shape with life left, exhibiting normal play wear. The electronics are nice and clean and function as they should.
This guitar is very much player grade, and features many changed parts including the pickups, pickguard, bridge and tuners. It is routed under the guard as shown. It is freshly set up with Daddario EXL110 (10 gauge) strings, and is ready to rock!
Includes the pictured vintage Gibson Explorer hard case. The case is in rough shape with the latches and handle replaced, it still protects the guitar very well.
