This is a super cool 1981 Gibson Les Paul Heritage Series 80 that plays and sounds great! The neck has a solid '59 profile and the honey amber finish looks incredible! The Tim Shaw humbuckers have a great bite and clarity,
This guitar does show quite a bit of cosmetic wear from over the years that includes various surface scratches, scuffs, and dents throughout the body with additional wear along the back of the neck and headstock. There's wear and yellowing along the fretboard binding. The hardware also shows normal tarnishing and part of the print on the truss rod cover has faded. The finish on the back of the neck is particularly worn around the 2nd and 3rd frets. The frets have flattened a bit from the many years of play but otherwise play well without any noticeable fret buzz. All of the electronics work as they should.
The pickups are period correct Tim Shaw Patent No. Humbuckers, and it currently sports period correct Grover tuners, though there is evidence of a different style tuner being used at one time (extra mounting holes under the tuners). The pickguard, pickup rings, tailpiece pots, and caps are later replacements. This guitar is otherwise original.
